Copper Creek Ghost Town

The access to Copper Creek is from the town of Mammoth. You must sign in at the AZGFD kiosk since you will be traveling on private land most of the way. Once past the sign-in it's a nice, bumpy 9 mile ride to what is left of the old mining town. Remnants of some structures are still standing, but it's hard to say what they were in their prime.
The town of Mammoth has a nice tribute to miners
The Skeleton Crew
Yes, the skeleton crew of the graveyard shift
Our road is hard to pick out but it's up there on the left, the narrow gray track of dirt
The remaining walls of some large structure along the creek
I have no idea what this is but it was part of the mining operation
Notice the creek below?
The run-off from mining operations up stream colors the creek a lovely shade of aqua
Somehow I don't think nature meant for water to look like this
The bridge across the creek
The attempt to keep people off this structure is useless
The remains of some large foundation pillars
I love the way they just left those huge rocks in place as supports
Copper Creek Sign
The Copper Creek sign is just to the left. We were told this was once the Post Office
The view from the Post Office. See that little blue truck down there?
Our trusty transport waiting to claw it's way back down the mountain
